TOUHOU: RESOLVE
Welcome to Gensokyo! What's Gensokyo, you ask? Consider it a little piece of the real world that we snipped off a couple centuries back when that whole "science" thing started getting popular, so that the creatures you now consider "myth" wouldn't fade away.Gensokyo is a land of fairies, of youkai, of fierce demons and regal vampires. It's a land where Momotaro is history, and where there really are rabbits on the moon. There are humans too, of course - just enough of them to populate a village so that their belief and their fear can continue giving youkai the belief they need to exist.
You might be familiar with a certain lazy shrine maiden and scheming magician solving various incidents around Gensokyo. Don't worry about them, this is a Different Gensokyo. If that confuses you... just don't worry about it!
What we need are our own heroes, humans and youkai who will work together to solve our own Incidents. We might play by Spellcard rules, but these Incidents are no joke. Can you step up and be the people Gensokyo needs?

Q. What is Touhou?
A. Go ask Quinn, you'll get a better answer.
Q. What is Valor?
A. The system we will be using to play Touhou: Resolve. There'll be some custom rules, stuff that'll be made clear before game start.
Q. When is the game?
A. It will start after I finish up Half-Plus. Estimation: Early 2024. Yeah, we're early.
Q. When will the game?
A. I've currently divided my games into "weekday games" or "weekend games," depending on tone and how hard it is to run. Touhou: Resolve will be a weekday game. Which day is not set in stone, and will depend on both GM and player availability as we get closer to game start. But expect a weekday evening, starting somewhere between 6 and 8 (maybe 9, but that's pushing it) Eastern Time.
Q. Why is the game?
A. Because Touhou is a rich setting for characters and spellcard rules are fun.
Q. Anything to keep in mind?
A. When it comes time to plan actual characters, it might be best to have a couple ideas in mind. Part of the selection process will be making sure the party isn't stepping on each other's toes for character beats, which means there probably won't be more than one shrine maiden, more than two humans, more than two outsiders, etc.

Hakisouji Masako
Masako was an ambitious noble who was foiled in life through political machinations who became a terror of a vengeful ghost in death. She was eventually thwarted by a prominent family of shrine maidens and sealed inside a broom. Said broom was kept enshrined, but in the process ended up being neglected as a tool. As the shrine itself fell into disrepair, the broom eventually would start emerging as a tsukumogami. But Masako's will was so strong that rather than manifesting an independent spirit, Masako merged with the developing spirit. She thus found a way around the seal, but in the process she done played herself: not only was she now only as strong as a newborn kami, but the imperative of that tsukumogami meant she suddenly found herself compelled towards domestic maintenance of the shrine.
Over time, as her attention focused mostly on her new duties as maintainer of the shrine, her desire for vengeance diminished. Yet she still has the seal, and who knows what would happen if that seal was removed?
Basically Aura/Dex, former Stage 6 or so boss in a Stage 1 boss body.

4. Anything you want to see in game? Emily you can't just ask that with your initial signup post! I don't know what the fuck I want yet and I won't for several months!

3. Character concept(s)? Anzu Sakurada, a human from the outside world with a deep youkai hyperfixation who is imported into Gensokyo by the Sakurada Shrine's enshrined god. Engages with youkai battles with the excitement of a birdwatchter catching sight of a New Caledonian Owlet-Nightjar.
4. Anything you want to see in game? Something like the Moon in canon - some realm or faction that's just conceptually beyond Gensokyo's ability to oppose. Makes it all the more hype when we have to do it anyway.

3. Character concept(s)? So a kappa got her hands on some media involving robots, got excited about the idea, and tried building one. It... honestly wouldn't have worked if it hadn't attached a youkai currently in the process of forming from the various superstitions associated with computers and also people generally treating actual robots like pets or people. Kinda a chaotic youkai, sometimes prone to strange behavior/'glitches'. Has the power to create glitches in things and people.

3. Character concept(s)? I have heaps of them, including a magician who turned herself into a doll for immortality/to escape an afflicted body (shades of Alice/Patchouli), a dog youkai who was formerly an enforcer for a family human magicians but has been freed but turned out of the village, A Yuki-onna who is the princess of her own youkai faction in the distant mountains, a Kappa 'leader' who tends towards grandose plans and is very bad at actual leadership, and a cursed oni who can drink not a drop until she makes pennace for her misdeads to the sages. Picking just one is my greatest problem.
4. Anything you want to see in game? I think that, for optimum Tohou Expanded Universe feels, we should have some kind of lower-stakes adventures where we can just get absolutely clowned on due to our own characters desires and personality flaws.
5. Link your favorite AMV! Because I like AMVs. This ought to do, though I feel like many of the great AMVs of yore have fallen away. Oh, but I think a little gunbuster is fine too.

Probably something based on Chinese mythology, got a few ideas:
-The filial tiger, a story about a tiger who eats a woman's son and as penance takes up the son's role as her provider. To make it more tone-appropriate for Touhou I'd probably have the son just be injured and the tiger helping out while he recovers. Probably going to play the tiger as a full tiger at first, maybe having the mother be the main character as a sort of companion build.
-Something based on Legend of the White Snake, a descendant of hers. I want to have it be a running gag that she keeps having snakes come to her for help but it's less of a fairytale helping an animal thing and more like your annoying relatives asking you for favors.

I'm estimating 2024 for all of these campaigns to finish up, though with Godbreakers being the most likely to end last (we're currently entering S2) Wednesdays are unlikely unless nothing else works.
