these my OCs. from left to right we got:

Ember Resuine - Level 60 alchemist/mechanist currently trapped in the VRMMO Infinity Frontier. Originally a closeted trans girl, she's now more or less embraced life as a girl even if it's trapped inside of a video game. She had the original idea for the guild she's in but has no actual position in it, aside from an unofficial "guild crafter" title. A budding fashionista who prefers coordinating outfits over actually playing the game.

Isette of Khia - Light mage and only researcher of Ancient History at the Academy of Arcane Studies. She has a yearly budget of two gold pieces, so she's learned to skimp and save every copper she can. She discovered a boy from another world and uses him to push for further funding, as any good researcher would.

Toyo Seiryu - Daughter of the headmaster of Aegis Academy, the world's premier school for children with symbiotes that give them amazing powers. Toyo's been trained from day one to be the best, brightest, and strongest. Her symbiote gives her draconic powers - invulnerable scales, claws, and super-strength along her arms, as well as fire breath and draconic eyes. As the strongest student in the school, she earned the place of student council president. But that impaired her actual goal of slacking off and sleeping as much as possible, so she arranged to lose a fight and her position to a freshman.

Saellia Serenity Snowdrop Etain - Sae for short. Sae was the younger princess and black sheep of the Etain royal family. Since her sister was the chosen magical girl of their kingdom and Sae was Sae, she was neglected and forgotten... right up until her older sister sacrificed her life for the rest of the magical girl team, so Sae was forced to take her role in order to ensure that sacrifice wasn't in vain. Sae is a short-tempered tomboy with a violent streak, but a lot of her bad attitude is to hide the stress she's under and the emotional trauma of her unbringing.

Beatrice Bailey Belladonna Etain - Bea for short. Sae's older sister, a perfect girl in every sense. A perfect friend and confidant, a perfect princess, a perfect magical girl. She was well-loved and well-respected by everybody up until she gave her life. Except she didn't die, she was captured and brainwashed. Now she only does the bidding of the evil kingdom that took her.

Part of being a princess is going to events - balls, galas, parties, all extremely fancy and with mandatory attendance by all the royal families. El hates them.

The princesses of Albina are known, broadly, for being extremely civic-minded and hard-working and intense, generally just being excellent and tireless human beings. This is mainly because the older two are the ones who do most of the socializing and get all the time in the spotlight, while El is generally content to go as unnoticed as possible.

Normally, this strategy works fine, but unfortunately, both of her sisters were out of the country for this one, leaving El to fend for herself. Things were going so well, until she accidentally made eye contact with Beatrice Bailey Belladonna Etain, who she instantly recognized as the most dangerous kind of person to make eye contact with at a party: Someone who cares deeply. Just, in general.

Maybe if she acts like she didn't see her, she'll go away on her own...

That wasn't going to work. Before El can look away, Bea flashes her a smile. By the time she does, Bea is already walking over.

"El! It's so nice to see you." Yup, Bea activated.

"Hi, Bea. How's being good at everything working out for you lately?"

"About as well as you'd expect," she says with a sigh. It's unclear if that was sarcasm or not.

"But I'm really glad you could make it today. I don't often see you at these sorts of events."

"Yeah, well, you know how it is in my family. Always busy with something, right?" Like sleeping.

"Your family are all very talented and driven. It's only natural."

....A bit of a smirk. "Your eldest sister tells me that your motivation is in a different area, though."

Dammit, this conversation was almost not terrible for, like, five seconds.

"She's probably exaggerating."

Olivia is still not really used to the "you're the princess" thing, much less hang out with other princesses. Magic Destinies were a thing that happened to other people.

Either way, she's found herself stuck on a scouting mission with Saeilla. Which has so far involved stalking a local biker gang that was suspected to have some kind of connection to either Evil Kingdom Grunts or even the Regalia. Ideally. Olivia's mostly been staring at either the Earth Burger that was ordered for her instead of the gang member at the other end of the diner.

"This is boring," Sae complains. "Wouldn't it be quicker if we just threatened them for the information?"

She makes a large show out of pulling a butterfly knife from her pocket, doing a couple tricks to show off the blade, then folds it up and puts it back.

Oh boy. She tries not to look too uncomfortable.

"Wouldn't that just scare them off?"

"If they're a real gang, they won't be scared off so easily!" Sae if they're not scared wouldn't that mean threatening them would fail?

Oh god oh god. Olivia fidgets nervously with her hands under the table.

"Sae, someone could get hurt!"
