EarthBound V
The year is 202X
Monday Blues, a small town in Eagleland
Monday Blues, a small town in Eagleland
Nothing ever happens in Monday Blues, a small, dreary, suburban town in Eagleland. When the local gaming/cartoons/anime convention comes to town, it's about the only dang thing for the kids to do on a weekend! But that's when things start getting weird...
Erratic Tables, Cross Crossing Guards, Spirit Radios, War-Drobes, Seagulls.... what's happening to the world? And what can a ragtag group of kids do to save it?
Okay, what is this?
Welcome to EarthBound V, a game heavily inspired by EarthBound / the Mother series and run using the Valor tabletop game system. (Or possibly its variant, Valor Alter. That's still up in the air.)
The point is, you get to make a group of psychic kids (or dogs, or possibly teens) and go around the world, finding unique situations, defeating wild enemies, and saving the world from whatever the heck is going on.
What can you expect?
A lot of things! The power of hope and love. Weaponized nostalgia. Suburban nightmares. Mr. Saturn. Shopping trips. Adults being corrupted by capitalism. Free shipping. A guy with a flamethrower riding a motorcycle. A dog - possibly two dogs. An abandoned shopping mall. Card games. Powerful psychics. A message about friendship conquering all.
Does that sound fun?
If so, express some interest down below!

3. Character concept(s)? The "runt" of the local Kid Scouts troop, who'd much rather immerse themselves in fantasy (science or otherwise) than going on hikes and camping trips... but since their parents run the thing, they can't exactly get out of them. Their parents seem to have differing opinions on whether to encourage their imagination or keep them grounded, and whatever is happening slowly threatens to tear their family apart...
4. Anything you want to see in game? A photoshoot. A roller coaster. Something that can't be understood, just endured.
5. What is your favorite movie, book, game, or TV show from childhood? When I was very young, I couldn't stop watching Disney's Fantasia.

3. Character concept(s)? Awkward autistic kid/teen, spends a lot of time in the woods looking for fairy rings. Has strong changeling vibes, mostly due to feeling out of place everywhere else. Has an imaginary friend who might actually be a bit real. Absolutely an egg.
4. Anything you want to see in game? Weird but friendly little guys, punching capitalism in the face, the power of music
5. What is your favorite movie, book, game, or TV show from childhood? Doraemon

3. Character concept(s)? A rebellious and cool punk psychic dog whose owners are in a weird cult. She wants none of that crap. Fights with a mixture of psionics and sick skateboard stunts. You ever wanted a skateboarding dog? You got it now.
4. Anything you want to see in game? A weird dream-like sequence. A spooky sequence. Something involving space?
5. What is your favorite movie, book, game, or TV show from childhood? The Darkangel Trilogy books. The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon (the one that started in 1987).

3. Character concept(s)? Two so far:
The Hiroshi: Very self-serious, very scientifically-minded teenager who also happens to have psychic powers he refuses to disclose due to the irrational nature of their existence. His attitude comes from a father who has a very similarly rigid view of the world he enforced on his son. Secretly reads a lot of books about cryptids.
The Papyrus: THE BIG ENTHUSIASTIC BIG BROTHER WHO LOVES EVERYBODY, INCLUDING HIMSELF. Kind of a jock, loves sappy movies, combination tank/physical skillset and buffer.
4. Anything you want to see in game?
5. What is your favorite movie, book, game, or TV show from childhood? Not good at citing favorites but I was big on Dragon Warrior games, Discworld novels, and the X-Files

3. Character concept(s)?
-Preteen TCG weirdo, use cards for summons/companions/techs
-If it turns out to be regular Valor, and if Tools of the Trade are on the table, do True Summoner with a Calvin & Hobbes sort of expy over-imaginative kid whose plush toy fights for them in combat
4. Anything you want to see in game? A third dog, maybe.
5. What is your favorite movie, book, game, or TV show from childhood?
Movie: The Transformers: The Movie (1986)
Book: Swiss Family Robinson
Game: Zelda: Ocarina of Time
TV show: Beast Wars/TMNT '87 tossup
